one card two ways

I needed a congratulations card for my cousin who just got accepted to the college she has dreamed about going to:)
One of my students the very next day to getting her announcement, makes his announcement that his dog got hit by a car and passed away on the way the vet. He was so torn up over the dog it made me and the other students cry. I thought I need to make to him a card for the class to give to him(this is not unusual for for me to do I make a card usually once per quarter for various and sundry things) So I came home after work and headed straight to my craft room--

I knew I wanted something made with cricut and maybe stamps.
I wanted a dog related card for the student since it was his dog that passed away, once I got finished with his card I loved the dog on the front so much that I decided to do the same thing for the congratulations card.

Chipboard word albums is a new found love

I bought this word album several years ago and was a little intimidating so it got put away. In November at our annual fall scrapbook weekend I saw a friend completing a word album for a baby shower. I was impressed at how easy it looked and decided that I could do it!

I came home after that weekend and searched for the cat word album.
I had some paper from recollections left over from a scrapbook project for Fresno(my baby:), no really my baby LOL)

I put it together in 2 hours and it made a great Christmas gift for my mom a.k.a Fresno's mawmaw:)

Here is how it turned out:

I added some stitching detail using my favorite black journal pen

I added lots of American crafts ribbon to the binder rings to add some dimension and fill it out so you could not see the rings!

Not bad for my first attempt:)

I found a gorgeous layout on Two peas in a bucket it is a baby girl layout. I loved it and decided to give it a try my way.

Here is how mine turned out

I did mine so it could be for a number of things the title says love at first sight so it could be for a baby, or a love, or an object the list could go on and on!

I love the look of all the deep colors would be great for valentines day

Memory Works Inspiration

I often search the internet for inspiration for scrapbook layouts. I was on the memory works blog the other day when I saw the cutest layout for valentines day-- entitled Sweetheart I decided to try to make a similar layout and this is what I came up with.

Recipe:

K&Company paper pad (sorry I can not remember the name but it is bright and has nature themed papers in it)
Fiskars funky love heart punch in all 3 sizes
CTMH lagoon cardstock
CTMH white cardstock
cindy loo cricut cartridge
CTMH love you forever stamp set

I wanted to use up papers and supplies from my stash and I love how the layout turned out!

What drew me to this layout was all the hearts and the paper weaved embellishment

here is how you do this: cut 6 patterns of paper in 6X6'' square and then cut the square into 1/2'' strips then begin to weave the pieces together, makes a really cute embellishment.

Simple Stories

I absolutely love the simple stories way to scrapbook I used to be able to sit for hours on 1 layout because I had that kind of time-- before I graduated and got a job:) Now I barely have time to create cards much less a scrapbook album, but thanks to Simple stories I can create several layouts in just a couple of hours! here is just one example-- a layout dedicated to a dear friend who is now in heaven I think the title from simple stories says it all

I knew I wanted to scrapbook these photos, Simple stories had just the kit I needed-- Life documented

The perfect saying-- we don't remember days we remember moments-- so true so true:)

Scrapbook Studio Tour part 6

The conclusion of our tour will end today with the last wall of my scrapbook studio
and my memory makers wall storage too

Ribbon, stickles, buttons, flowers, and paint all stored in my memory makers wall storage
My cricut apron and monkey hangs from my initial hanger
My file cabinet holds paperwork, and craft kits, the crate on top holds totes, the sterilite container holds general craft supplies, glass crafts, and candles
my refrigerator(which comes in handy for crops or long scrapbook days
and last but definitely not least is my wonderful sink-- this is a great thing to have in your scrapbook studio because of messy projects with stamps, glue, and paint
I thought I would not use it but I use it almost every time I scrap:)

Hi again Today we will be stopping by my scrapbook island This is where all of my memories are preserved! I made my island with the 12X12 scrapbook storage cubes as the base and a piece of MDF as the surface I store basic supplies in the

memory makers carousel
2 black baskets
target dollar spot tins
and clear shoe boxes
a treat holder (really meant for food but I keep scrapbook treats inside instead) :)
Pink crates creates a nice place to keep tools and photos
iris totes under my island holds all of my pre-made page kits ready to go crop!

Scrapbook Studio Tour Part 4

Today we will be visiting my paper and album storage I use the cropper hopper clear vertical paper storage and storage unit to hold all of my card stock stored by color group The pattern paper is stored in the cropper hopper class tote stored by manufacture My albums and scrapbook theme kits are stored in a white bookcase some creations line the top of the bookshelf the top shelf inside the bookcase is chipboard letters and shapes

notice all of the photo boxes stacked up on the other side of my paper holder, those are all pictures stored by theme ready to be scrapped:)
notice the iris tote, how I store my scrap paper by color group in the provided file folders, so far I love this storage solution, easy access and ready to go for a crop;)

Today I also want to wish my wonderful mommy a Very Happy Birthday!

Copic Marker Storage

Copic Markers are my new passion I love them so much!!!! I have a lot to learn still but they are so AWESOME as my collection was getting larger I searched for a way to store them in a neat easily accessible way! This is what I came up with a close up view of my desk and shelf that holds pictures and memorabilia I made my own Copic marker and other marker storage by using CTMH chipboard memory cubes I used liquid glass to glue the sides and cut the top off then adhered them all together and placed them under my shelf(they ended up being just the perfect size) The first cube is for other craft markers the second cube is for sharpies and paint pens the third cube is for natural copics the fourth cube is for green copics the fifth cube is for pinks/reds copics the sixth cube is for blues copics the seventh cube is for yellow copics

Scrapbook Studio Tour Part 1

I decided to take you on a tour of my scrapbook studio!

This is definitely my happy place:)

A place where cards are created, and memories are preserved!

Part 1 of my tour will take you to my stamping station
This is a old TV/computer stand-- I grabbed it before it headed to the trash(good decision)
on the floor it has all the boxes of tech stuff i have and some party supplies
the next shelf has all of my CTMH stamps
the next shelf is the old vintage beta player(still works)
the next shelf is all the CTMH large alpha stamps
On the top of the cabinet i have placed some organizer drawers to hold all of my CTMH accessories and other stamping neccessities
On top of the drawers is my creation basket with my little scrapbook mouse
and some more CTMH creations like the memory boxes and memory cubes

Next is my stamping station/table
This is where all of my cards are created and anything else that needs stamping
my table was from Bmoss when they were liquidating the store at the mall it is perfect for my stamping
my shelf is homemade and holds pictures and other memorabilia

2 little crates to hold my most used CTMh stamps

2 over the desk white boards and corkboard organizer(these are great for inspiration)
under the desk is my created cards, scrapbook/card making supplies to go(packed up and ready for a crop)

My Christmas was awesome!!!

I am writing this blog post from my new Dell tablet:-)

The tablet has since been taken off tge market but i absolutely love this tablet, has great apps and a pretty good battery life, for all i need a tablet for it is PERFECT for me

The best part of Christmas was family and the beautiful church service we had

I am ready to get up to my studio to start creating but the house needs cleaned first for more family to come over:)

As I was searching for unique scrapbook products one day, I ran across a website called memory works. Out of curiosity I clicked on the link and was AMAZED! This is a direct sales company like no other, and I should know since I have been involved with 3 direct sales companies in the past.

ETSY is probably the best place to sell or purchase hand crafted items I have found anyway!

I joined in 2008 selling cards and crochet items, I was open 6 months and then one morning a sale :) then nothing for 3 months:(

I could not keep up with my shop-- creating-- photo taking--listing-- the whole running a business thing, because I was working and going to school and it got to be too much so I closed my shop

the desire to create and sell my creations was still in the back of my head so I re-opened in 2009 early 2010 was only on for a few months when I decided I needed a break to regroup maybe create some new products so I was off for approximately 5 months

Now I am open and here to stay!!!! I am offering a wide variety of greeting cards, jewelry and accessories

What is different than last time you may ask? Well I am working 2 full time jobs (teaching) and trying to create and be on ETSY well a team is different I joined a TEAM on ETSY that is supportive for working ETSIANS meaning we have day jobs or go to school the team helps us to balance everything and it a support system for working etsians!

I am doing better at ETSY this time I think anyway you can look at the 2nd page of my shop to see my old pictures and my current pictures are on page 1 I think a better improvement

With any business it needs to be run, management is everything in a company the same thing goes for my little shop~

New Listings

Do you like interchangeable pendants you can exchange different chains for different pendants? Well I have just listed some wonderful glass pendants in my shop with more to come soon!!!

New listings in my shop just this morning, I have added glass pendants to my shop~ These are so much fun to make and to wear, one added note is these pendants are not waterproof and should not be worn in the shower or pool area!
They make perfect gifts for shower gifts(bridal or baby), hostess gifts, bridal party gifts, Mother's Day Gifts, Graduation gifts, and really any gift for any occasion!

It is finally Friday YEAH:) oh I could almost scream out loud and do a back flip~
My weekend is full of projects and appointments
I have some creating to do, pictures to take, pictures to edit, school stuff to do-- final exams to be created, papers to be graded, planning to be done, the list goes on and on! I need to prioritize or I will get nothing done~

A new challenge-- P365- this is where you take a picture each day of the year leaving you with 365 pictures as a record of the year! I am going to be putting these photos in a scrapbook-- I tried this 2 years ago but no luck I made it 1 week, sad but true... This time I am doing pretty good, I know we are just in February but I have a picture for everyday so far:) I just hope I can keep it up I bought a beautiful scrapbook to put my POTD layouts inside and I can not wait to see it all put together:)

This morning it is cold out side but warm in my shop with some new spring listings

I listed some new statement rings and a very fun bracelet

This ring is a gorgeous rose in a buttercup color and so nice for spring time!

How fun is this bracelet it is called cha cha bracelet because it reminds me of the cha cha cha dance, fun!!!

My rings come in both silver plate(listed this morning) and gold plate, and they come in a variety of colors!

Yes I did add Pure Eden to my greeting card shop yesterday!

it is so exciting to see the pendants listed at the beginning of the shop, I have several pieces, pictures taken, some need edited, others are just waiting to be listed, And cards yeah I have more cards to list, some pictures that need to be taken and others need to be edited and others are just sitting there waiting to be listed!

Monday Monday, wow it seems like it was just Friday and the weekend was starting but now the workweek is starting-- A fun week this week as i am testing most of the week towards the end of the week i will have to teach the next chapter, I will have some time to think about new designs during my testing time:)

I am planning on listing new items everyday this week so you will have to be sure to stop by the shop

thinking of expanding my shop~

Well I have more than one crafting passions

So how do i limit my shop to just greeting cards you may ask? Well I thought if you have one brand maybe the shop will do better~ Just a thought so about 6 months to 1 year i opened up a shop called Pure Eden jewelry but all of my traffic feed my hearts were in my creative corner shop~
What was I to do I am trying to be better at advertisement but right now I just am at the brick wall ETSIANS get to, I need to break through that wall~

So I have a pretty large inventory of jewelry... Here is what I have decided to do

instead of having every jewelry item--like beaded jewelry, bracelets, rings, necklaces, pendants, I am going to have just a few items like-- pendants(glass and resin), rings, some really neat beaded bracelets, and hair accessories FUN items nothing too fancy, nothing really vintage, more like young people wear today, cute enough to wear to church or school but still modern enough to wear to a party or wedding~ What a balance-- well I have thought long and hard about this-- my price point-- shipping options-- whether to offer the new jewelry line or not-- I have decided I will go ahead and give it a try~

It will be under my Creative Corner Designs shop but still branded as pure Eden Jewelry that way I can easily transition to the Pure Eden Jewelry shop if I need to in the future, also at Craft shows and fairs I will be able to easily distinguish my Jewelry because i have created a logo for my Jewelry and my cards of course is my banner and avatar both here on this blog and at my shop~

Here is to a very nice Sunday with a very nice productive weekend behind me-- Friday I got my pictures taken and edited-- Beautiful weather the light just came in my studio (wonderful)-- Saturday I got some work done for my day job-- Lectures and exams created-- Today I am going to try to get some listings ready for this week and maybe my new banner for my shop yeah I have to change my tag-line if I add jewelry.

What to say, what to say, what to say..... hmmmm well it could be a greeting for every occasion and Pure Eden Jewelry designs, or it could say Greetings for all occasions and Jeweled creations, i don't know i really would like to have Pure Eden in the name some where?

Page Maps August contest

Oh how I love page maps, they are changing the way I scrap and I love it click here to see it! This is the layout I came up with, from the sketch they gave, what do you think? I am really really pleased with how it turned out:)

My layout the sketch uses 3 pictures but I had this one and it equals out to be the same size as the other just in one picture, I did some faux stitching (love it) Page maps is really helping me step outside my scrappin comfort zone:)

My Fresno I wanted to see what he would do with a fish, he loved it he sat and watched it and watched it then he would stick his paws in the water trying to capture the fish, he didn't but it was soooo cute and I was so excited to scrapbook this picture it was the first picture I grabbed for this challenge!

Oh I feel so bad about neglecting my poor blog for so long:(
I have been sooooooo super busy lately
1. I have 3 jobs count them 3
2. I have a HUGE test to study for (Certification)
3. Reorganizing Revamping my scrapbook Studio

Yeah I know I know those are all just excuses however I have some great blog posts coming

1. The job thing I have 3 here they are
a. Church Secretary- I have been my churches secretary for 3 years almost 4 and loving it
b. Cricut Demonstrator for Provo Craft-- wow if that is ever a dream job for me
c. A college instructor teaching Medical Coding This is a wonderful job too

2. The Certification test is for Medical Coding and it is HUGE 5 1/2 hours so I am studying very hard

3. Reorganizing my scrapbook studio-- yeah this is fun instead of using my limited spare time to scrapbook or create I am reorganizing, purging, cleaning, yeah and a little bit of decorating:)

I plan on taking progress picture s of my scrapbook studio redo I have been scrappin for almost 9 years now but have only had a studio a few years, it is taking me a long time to find what is working for me but I think I am on my way thanks to the Peas over at 2peasinabucket:)

The countdown

Oh it is already June 3rd am I ready yet? That is a good question, I think I am getting there but not quite yet:)
The 18th my Grand Opening day over at Pure Eden Jewelry, I have been working on a logo and my earring cards I take the handmade thing all the way down to my packaging:)
If you go to Flickr you will see some examples of what will be introduced on June 18th I can not put specifics on Flickr but you get the idea, If you see something you like then please come by my shop on the 18th or that weekend and check it out!

Here is a sample of my logo For Pure Eden Jewelry (no keep in mind this can change over time but right now I am almost happy with it, still have to tweak some things in photoshop)

Pure Eden Jewelry is inspired by God's Beautiful Creation when you translate the Eden it is to say Delight so really my shop name would read Pure Delight which is what I find in the Lord and his beautiful Creation!

Wow where Have I been?

Well it has been CRAZY!!!!!

I have taken a HUGE break from ETSY, I learned a lot from my experience in ETSY and I hope to be more successful this time
For anyone who makes handmade crafts and would like to contribute to their family I do think ETSY is a great outlet, however there are a few misconceptions about ETSY here are some that I have learned!

1. you open an ETSY shop and magic will happen-- sales will just flood and you will have a hard time keeping up
--This is not true well for most people, the ETSY shop will have to be opened for months prior to getting sales

2. because the ETSY shop is virtual means it does not take lots of hard work
--Completely false, I think that is may be harder because it is virtual you have to work that much harder to be a reliable trustworthy person

3. You can just be on ETSY and no problems marketing and promoting shops
--This is partly true partly false, I found that I had to do marketing and promoting outside of ETSY, but also on the forums on ETSY was a great place to promote my shop too

4. Keeping good records are not that important because it is just a hobby!
--Yeah right a hobby, well records are always important know your expenses compared with your profits

Just a few misconceptions I learned the hard way--

I have just re-opened my greeting card shop
I am working diligently to get my Jewelry shop opened on June 18th

On Vacation

Well not officially yet if you have been to my shop you will see the big announcement on top that I am On Vacation!!!! I am I took this week as a much needed catch up on business stuff through my ETSY shop but starting tomorrow I will be ON VACATION FOR REAL:)

I leave tomorrow and will not return until Monday July 20 really late!

Some new Custom work

I love it when people come up to me and ask me to make something special for them! I had that happen a couple of weeks ago. A lady came to me and asked if I could make her a necklace to match the earrings she had won at a shower(my earrings) I said sure, I went on a hunt in search for the perfect beads to match and finally I found them and here it is the necklace I called think pink! and by the way she loved it:)

I took in a kitty cat

A cute little guy we named him Fresno, my intention was to have a outside cat however Fresno had other plans he wants to stay inside but I am still trying to transition him outside, I think I am going to make him an outdoor enclosure so he can be outside but still be safe! He is so cute and now he is spoiled we hold him and he is just like a baby! I wanted to put this notice on my blog for anyone looking to buy from my shop! I make the statement that my products are made in a smoke free and pet free home! I do have a kitten he is 12 weeks old but is not allowed in my studio upstairs I keep all of my products there including the bags and shipping supplies so he is not in contact!

Hello Kitty

I know I do, Hello kitty was huge when I was little, growing up I had a ton of Hello kitty things! One thing that I did want and never could have was a true Hello Kitty birthday party complete with hello kitty invites but we could never find any, I know you would have thought that we could have found hello kitty invites anywhere considering how big she was but we couldn't:(

My first sale!!!

Oh my goodness I thought this day would never come but It finally did!!!! I made my first sale from my handmade products on ETSY! I actually sold 8 products and I have 2 custom orders! I am so excited. It won't show up on ETSY that I have a sale because it was my friends from church that bought them and they did it directly through me and not through ETSY! I will post the pictures of what was sold I have removed them from my shop because they were a OOAK piece and I can not make them again! No just the Christmas Card Challenge over at SCS site. I just joined in this month they have a challenge to make ten Christmas Cards over ten months from January to November! I think it is a great idea so that I am not rushing around in October and November this way I will hopefully have them completed by that time:)

Oh my first let me say that I am still so excited about my ETSY shop I listed some really neat earrings the other day they feature swavorksi crystals and sterling silver in the March birthstone aquamarine!

So cute and fun! the pendant is ready to be put on any kind of chain, Last night I made one for me to wear PROMO :o) I placed mine on a black leather cord with silver closure! I liked it on the black cording but I think it would look great on a silver cord as well.

Oh dear... I don't know how much more we can take of this winter stuff... we woke up this morning to that dreadful white stuff on the ground, and it has snowed on and off all day but worse than anything is how bitter cold it is out there the wind just goes right through you. Today has been kind of a lazy day just getting things ready for Etsy. I have two more bracelets and a pendant ready to add to the shop and three sets of dishcloths. Watched Grease and Grease 2 then just checking in on Fiskateers message board and now updating my blog. no pictures today, hopefully sometime next week I can get some pictures.

Oh my who would have thought I have my hands into a new creative outlet... Beading and jewelry making!! I started scrapbooking, then I started stamping, then I started card making, then I started crochet and other needlepoint like cross~stitch, and now I have started jewelry making and boy oh boy do I enjoy it actually to be completely honest I love and enjoy doing all of these creative outlets and I plan on doing all of them just not at the same time LOL!!! Today is National wear Red Day to support the Go Red for women movement through the American Heart Association

Did you wear your red? I did and I even had my nails painted red!! I am a big supporter of the go red for women movement I think the more we know the more we can do to stop this... well at least know what our risks are for having heart disease or cardiac problems. And we know how to prevent or lower our risks!!!

I can hardly wait for spring!

We had a huge winter storm here last week, wiped our power out for 103 hours, some in our area are still without power. I just want to see the ground I think I know how Noah felt he just wanted to find land well I just want to see the ground again(: This weekend it is suppossed to be in the 60's wahoo wahoo but then winter is coming back again but only 6 more weeks right... so we are halfway there!

Here are some pictures of the snow!

The bug got burried up literally at one point during the snow storm you could barely see the tires and the snow piled up on top of the car!
My favorite tree in our yard with the snow blowing the picture does not do it justice it was really blowing the snow!

No Power!!!

We got hit hard with old man winter on Tuesday with 6 inches of snow, then on Wednesday we had 2 more inches and probably 2 inches of ice and then on thursday snow flurries and then on Friday another 3-4 inches of snow saturday was gorgeous and today was wonderful now if we can just get some power back on before the next storm comes our way this coming up Tuesday. I have not had power since 6:00 Tuesday evening I hope to be back up and running this week to show pictures of our snow!

I am getting closer and closer to finishing my scrapbook studio! I thought I would share, at the bottom of this page there is a slideshow showing my new space, I still have to put up some art on the wall and a message center and just today after I took these photos I put up a calendar so each day we get closer to finishing! Thanks for stopping by the slideshow is at the bottom along with my new playlist, you will find a wide variety of songs I love music every kind of music all the way from classic to pop I am not a rock or heavy metal fan but anything else is great!

and yet another christmas project!

This project was a little harder than I ever thought... an altered rubix cube! How hard can that be I thought, not that hard right... wrong!!! I took my pictures had them printed in mini prints I cropped them to fit the cube then what do I do? I took all of the colored stickers off (the colors on the rubix cube is just stickers) then I prepared my work surface and got to work first trying rubber cement, did not work the picture just folded up and rolled off the cube, I then tried super glue did not work either it glued the cube shut and got all over me and if any barely got on the picture it ate it like took the image off the photo paper . By this time I am getting very aggravated... we are like 7 days away from Christmas. I went to my uncle he said he could help me so he soaked the cube over night to get the photos off and then he got the glue unstuck and then he used double stick tape and some type of sealant and voila we had a full functioning rubix cube that no one else will have another one just like his. This gift was for my little brother (16) I think he really liked it. I am sorry I do not have anykind of pattern so if you are thinking about making one all I can say is good luck and dont use rubber sement or super glue use double sided tape and a sealant.
I was so excited when it was done I did not get a picture of the finished product I wrapped it up and gave it to him on Christmas eve and that was it.

Another small Christmas project!!!!

I made these cute snowmen for favors for family dinner on the Thursday before Christmas! It was a huge hit, everyone loved them I even helped my little brother make some for his teacher and she loved it too. I originally found them by Kathleen her blog is listed under my Fiskateer friends she made little santa's (so cute) and I thought I can do that for favors and it would be easy.

Winter is Here!!!
If you know me at all you know that winter is not my time of the year! I complain until I can not complain anymore. It is snowing right now and I just do not like it I am getting sick to my stomach thinking about going out to work tomorrow, slick roads ooohhh I cant say anymore! Some of you probably think I am crazy and I may well be but I do not like snow not one little bit I never have but def. not now.
Lets think about good times I want to think about HAWAII. We leave in June I am so excited I think I will make a countdown calendar to help me out. Maybe tomorrow after work I will work on it. Hopefully I can get it completed by the end of the week and then post it next week. My moms birthday is this Sunday and I have a couple of projects I need to work on for Sunday, one I have not even started so I need to get working on it!

One of my Christmas projects

This year my immediate family decided to exchange handmade items! This was especially neat for me because I scrapbook, stamp, crochet I am into anything handmade! So I decided to make a 12X12 2009 calendar, a crocheted scarf, an altered rubix cube, and a cat scrapbook. They all liked their gifts. Today I am going to share some images from the cat scrapbook. I am very happy with the finished product.

***Sorry about the pictures I took them with my 5mp and inside the scrapbook because it was too hard to get the pages in and out I was getting ready to wrap the book so anyway sorry about the picture
Shadow paw he is the best cat in the world his personality is AWESOME we say he thinks he is a people LOL he eats more from the table than from the bowl and he is just our favorite!
This is Jasmine she is the only girl and boy can you tell it you can see the lower photo is her valentines present from last year a pink hedgehog she is so sweet!
Jasper well what can I say about him he is lovable, rotten, and hyper he is so funny
This scrapbook was probably the hardest scrapbook I have done journaling wise when they are not my pets what can I say but I think I did a pretty good job(o:

The sweetest photo of all three of them all cuddled up together sleeping!! This layout I did about their names and what the names mean.

This layout was done at 2:00 in the morning at my retreat I went to in November I am very proud of this one considering how tired I was everything was done just right.

My First Cricut Expression Creation!!!

Oh how I love my Expression let me count the ways....

I still have my baby bug and I intend on still using it (not giving it up for adoption or anything like that...LOL) The expression is just a new addition to my Provo Craft family I now have the Sizzix the original one, the original cricut, the Cricut Expression, and the your story book binder and laminator. I am currently saving my pennies for the cuttle bug and that should complete my family. I have had so much fun during my Christmas break from college just playing with all my new scrapbooking goodies. Christmas day I made a tinkerbell not the one pictured, it took me a long time to figure out the eyes so I gave up, the next day I decided to start all over and two and one half hours later she was completed

* sorry about the flash on the picture I zoomed in to get some details and then the flash bounced off the counter top!
she was cut fit to page 12X12 and so she ended up being 11.5 inches still very intricate cuts especially around the eyes!

365 project

Okay so I have heard of this before but I never felt like it was something that I could commit to. I was reading today on twopeas about the 365 project starting up again this year 2009! I realize that it is the third already and I am two days behind (nothing unusual LOL) but I think I can catch up we are in the process of cleaning up the house of Christmas decor and so I can take pictures of that, on Thursday the first I can do a layout with out a picture new year and now starting today I will carry my camera in my purse and take a picture or two every day. I challenge you to do the same if you had never thought about it before at least think about it now! It sounds like a real challenge but a fun challenge you can go to two peas in a bucket to find out more information but I do know that there is a kit you can buy I am going to do my own thing with my own paper and stuff.

How many days?

Tell me it isn't so Please tell me we have more than 8 days left until Christmas! I am so excited what do I want for Christmas, well I would say most of all good health for my family, and for the rest of my family to attend church with us. But if you are asking what do I want in the way of material things well the list pretty much goes on and on but a few would be CTMH stamp pads, Cricut cartridges always want something Cricut, well a Cricut expression would be nice (do I need it no but it would be nice to have one... Some day), the your story book binding system and laminator, stickles, hoodies, clothes, undies, and anything I am a happy girl all the time and I am very appreciative of anything and everything I receive!

I had a CTMH party on Saturday it was a hit! I could not pick what I wanted (I finally did) it should be in sometime this week:o) I had 8 people we made Christmas cards, and we got to try embossing... this was the most fun watching everyone learn something new for the first time(I had already embossed)

I have so much to do, bake cookies, get ready, wrap, finish up on handmade gifts, but I am FINISHED SHOPPING :o) (o: YEAH it has just sneaked up on us really fast. I have some altered Hershey's bar for gifts this Thursday and on Christmas Eve.

No pictures today, we have a new addition to our camera family!!! A canon Xsi very exciting but still trying to learn all the ins and the outs!

Good Monday Morning to you!

Is it winter where you are? It is here, unfortunately :o( but tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 50s so I cant complain for long :o)

Today is Monday and so my favorite thing I want to spotlight today is

My Bind It All

Okay so are you into making your own albums, journals, books, and other crafts

You need the Bind It All, It is so neat, you put your pages into the cutting part and pull the lever and voila you have your holes punched (this can also make a nice border) then pick your o-wires and place your pages on the wires and place book or project into the pressing part of the machine and voila you have a nicely made book or album that you made yourself!

I love my machine I have made 4 or 5 projects with it so far I received it for my birthday in September! My hobby lobby had them and I heard that Archivers sells them and of course online! Be sure to get one they now have a new Bind It All it is Pink, I think it does the same thing as my blue one but not for sure, you could check it out online!

Cute easy tags

So I am getting my gifts all wrapped up and I decided that I needed to make some tags, I mean I have a box full of tags already but they are purchased tags the ones that are sticky on one side really cute but I wanted some handmade tags!

I went to my cricut to help me!

The Christmas cheer cartridge has just what I needed a tag feature I cut several (30) and still need more but it takes less than 5 minutes so I have plenty of time left!

See the little image at the bottom of the tag is cut from the cricut and then I glued a piece of holographic wrapping paper to the back to give it a little bling!

A thank you card (made in my new room)

My new room is so inspiring I have been creating more and more especially here lately! My Sunday School class sent me a great package of goodies because I am a college student and it is Finals time, I had to make them a card to show my appreciation! (I like when I have a good excuse to go to my scrapbook studio :o) )

I had these SEI cards Black orchid I think and some new Prima flowers and my Stickles and a new set of stamps from Close to My heart and I decided to sit down and make this card!

I like how it turned out, this is the first time I did not use brads to attach my prima flowers I used mini glue dots and then put pink stickles in the middle! I then highlighted the flower with icicle stickles. You maybe cant see it or it blends in and you can not tell but I used the threading water punch on the edge beneath the flowers!

I gave the card to my teacher last night at our Christmas party so I hope the class likes it. :o)

Favorite thing Friday!!!

It is not long until Christmas now just a few more days left of my favorite things Monday and favorite thing Friday!!!

Today I have picked my favorite trimmer yet

I have had many trimmers some good some bad but this one takes the cake

It is the Fiskar 12X12 Rotary trimmer :o)

Fiskars just came out with (I saw it at ACM last weekend) with the Rock paper trimmer this is also a great trimmer that has built in speakers you plug in your I pod or MP3 player and you can jam while you trim! I do not have one but I do have the rotary trimmer

I would also like to say that I have had this trimmer for nearly 9 months now and I have never changed the blade or the strip it still cuts like it did the day I bought it! And I just love the color and the design!

Let me introduce you to My Scrapbook Studio!!

There will be pictures of construction, pictures of where I scrapped before and my brand new Scrapbook studio I hope that you enjoy!

For years I did not have a room dedicated to my scrapbooking world! I would just pack up my stuff and carry it to the dinning room table and then pack it back up and put it away! This was not very much fun but I got used to it so it was okay!!!

Here are some pictures of my scrapbooking space before it got finished and how I used to scrapbook!

The plumbing for my sink, yeah I actually get a sink!!!! It was my cousins idea he said that he would not want me going up and down the stairs to clean my stamps so he just decided to put a sink in my room! I have the best cousin and Uncle ever they are AWESOME they did this entire room from start to finish, flooring, drywall, plumbing, electrical they did it all!!! I love them <3

The spare bedroom I took it over with most of my scrapbook stuff I actually had stuff in every room of the house 1st floor ;o) My mom did not appreciate it very much LOL

In the middle of a project on the dresser in the spare bedroom/my stuff... I usually moved all of my stuff into the dinning room but sometimes when we had company for dinner I had to work in the small space in the spare bedroom.my storage cubes trying to get things organized the key word here is trying LOL

My poor cricut deserves a nicer space but this is all that I had room for in the spare bedroom better than nothing but wait till you see where she lives now!!!

My AWESOME Scrapbook Studio

neatly organized everything has its space, I still have a couple things to do, put the trimming around the recessed lighting, put up the track lighting along the walls, and put up a message center, and get another set of drawers for the other side of the counter but other than that I am in business I love it... I love it... I love it, It is more than I could have ever dreamed I want to scrapbook and craft all the time now so much inspiration up there! I want to say Thank you to my FAVORITE UNCLE AND MY FAVORITE COUSIN and all of those that helped out you know who you are as for the rest of my family that will read this I still love you and yes you are my favorite too I really do not have one favorite anybody :o) you are all my favorite but this favorite uncle and cousin has really worked hard to give me this wonderful space and for that I am forever grateful!!!

My room you see the island (Love it more than I ever dreamed it is perfect), My counter top against the wall this is AWESOME, my bookshelf for storage and can barely see my paper storage in the corner

Now there is my counter top, I need one more set of drawers for this end(towards boom box) but other than that it is all done(one of my cousins said that she would put a piece of material around the bottom so I could hide things it is a good idea will have to think about it).

The counter top is where my cricut, sizzix, bind~it~all any other tool goes and in the corner near the wall is my stamping corner(not finished still need a message center and some type of shelving on the wall)

My island Oh my what can I say other than this is GREAT my Uncle got me a melamine counter top a great work surface and lots of room you can see 2 people can sit and work (with plenty of room) and see my MM desktop carousel!

Yeah you read that right stickles I have looked and looked for stickles forever no one anywhere had them:o(

last weekend at my scrapbook retreat my friend pulled out stickles out of her bag I said oh my where in the world did you find that? She said in Tennessee! Oh I said :o( I was sad but then yesterday I was in ACM and there they were staring at me I thought I was dreaming my brother had to reassure me that I was not dreaming that they were in fact hanging there I was making quite the scene in ACM everyone was looking at the crazy lady saying no it cant be I must be dreaming oh my are you serious oh my this is so awesome!!! Yeah getting teary eyed over glitter glue I have officially gone over the edge :o) LOL

well here is the package I got, it had icicle, Christmas red, and pink

sorry for the blurry picture but I guess I was just so excited that I did not focus the camera correctly but you get the idea!

Oh my these are now on my Christmas list but at $5.00 a package I will have to wait until a coupon comes out:o)

Holiday madness and Birthday party

Oh my this weekend the famous official start of the Holiday shopping season! 2008 shopping season is now in full swing, and I am so excited, I did not have hardly any presents bought before Thanksgiving this year but on Black Friday I was out at 3:40 AM shopping at my local mall, and on Thanksgiving at 6:00 I went to Walmart and Michaels, then on Saturday I went shopping from 9:30 am to 5:30 that evening and then today Sunday went shopping from 4:00 till 6:15 so much fun!!! I did find out that my absolute favorite store in my mall is closing the whole company is closing but we got a lot of great deals! Today was one of my cousins birthday she is 15 or will be this week! Her mom fixed potato soup and we sat around and talked and had fun then I came home and took a test for school then we went shopping!

Yesterday I found something I have been looking for, for what seems like forever "STICKLES" and oh my remember to check out My Favorite Things Monday for my post about stickles

here is the card I made for my cousins birthday you probably cant see it but there is stickles on it on the candle and on the birds feathers on its head!

Look how cute is that bird and you can not really see but used the threading water punch too!!

Sorry I am late but yesterday I wanted to recap my scrapbook retreat and Monday, well Monday I was busy trying to get caught up from the weekend!:o)

Today I would like to showcase

I absolutely love stamping I started stamping about 4 years ago and I started with wooden rubber stamping then last year I discovered close to my heart clear stamps and WOW what a difference you can see what you are stamping and where you are stamping I love it, I have had a party and getting ready for another party they are so much fun to use! I still use whatever stamps I have or that I run across that I just have to have but close to my heart is definitely my newest favorite!!!

Scrapbook Retreat Details

Oh my goodness!!!! What a weekend, it was almost like a dream 36 hours of scrapbooking!!!

I arrived at the hotel at about 9:00 or shortly there after on Saturday morning, we then left for lunch at 11:00 and came back at 12:30 I started scrapping and the hostess gave away door prizes then it was almost time for dinner and so we went to the hotel restaurant (not very good :o( ) then came back to the room and scrapped some more and then left at around 8:00 PM to go to Starbucks to get some Caffeine!!! There were 25 of us all together and we had a blast. PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES, food, and fun!!!! I set a goal for myself to stay up all night and so I did at 1:30 AM everyone left me I was all alone in the room full of scrapbooking goodness. I got more done in the wee hours of the morning than I thought I would have. The others came down at around 9:00-10:30 we ate breakfast and then scrapped some more. I left at about 1:00 PM I was ready for bed:o)

The hostess is so generous with prizes, she was all the time giving away prizes each guest got four paper M&M's we put our names on them and then she drew names out for prizes and not just goofy prizes these were GREAT prizes like close to my heart stamp sets, scrapbook kits, paper, eyelets, brads, stickers, M&M's, journals, calendars, stamps, storage things, and more

More than the excitement of winning all of the prizes it was worth it just to get out to be able to scrapbook with old friends and to be able to make new friends!!! She could have taken all of my prizes away and I would have still had a blast and loved every second of the scrapbook getaway!! Thank you to the hostess she knows who she is for a wonderful time! Cant wait until March to do it all again!!!! (yeah we already booked the hotel for the next getaway)

The cartridges make it possible for the cricut to do basically anything your imagination can come up with!!!

Happy monday morning

It is going to be Winter today cold cold cold with a chance of Snow:(

I know some of you like the snow but not me I do not like it at all, let me explain, I live out in the country old country roads and ice do not mix, if I did not have to go anywhere I would love the snow I am sure that some of you feel the same way!

Enough talking here is todays favorite thing...

My Cricut!!! I do not know how I ever managed to scrapbook without it, I use it almost everyday at least once (I am having withdraw as I have it packed up for a crop then I am in the process of moving into my studio and do not have a place to use it yet)
The cricut is AWESOME if you are thinking about getting one but not for sure... Go ahead you will not regret it at least I did not I have had it now for two years and love it the possibilities are endless with the Cricut you can make cards, bags, tags, boxes, paper dolls, scrapbooks, embellishments, monograms, home decor the list can go on and on. Cricut now has two siblings the big sister Cricut Expression and the baby brother the Cricut Create! The expression will cut 12X12 images which is great for scrapbooks and bulletin boards. The Cricut Create is a bit smaller than the original cricut but has some of the newer features like the expression. Cricut also has something called the jukebox this allows you to cut from multiple cartridges at the same time without changing cartridges. I would definitely encourage you to get one any one of them the Expression was on my Christmas list.

Prima!!!

You just have to love them.... I do! It is a wonderful company the month of October was Breast Cancer Awareness month and Prima got involved. They did a Pinky Swear project where the first 200 people that commented on their blog and promised they would tell 5 friends and family members to get their mammograms and annual checkups! I promised and I did right away e-mailed family members and friends! For my promise they promised to send me goodies, I received the package Thursday and my oh my what a package they gave me two bottles of Espirit flowers pink and yellow and a say it with charms heart charm. I was asked to make a project and post it to their blog. My problem was that it is now November and what do I do everyone else has already received theirs (the late arrival of my prima goodie package was not Prima's fault, it was mine, I had to get the money and the time to get a pre-addressed envelope to Prima all the way in California) I sat in my studio and stared at the flowers all I could think about was the song "Itsy bitsy teeny weeny yellow polka dot bikini" I tried to make other things related to breast cancer but could not get that song out of my mind so I made a bikini card this could be an encouragement card for weight loss, a happy birthday card, a happy honeymoon card, wedding card, going on a senior trip card, or even an encouragement to someone with termainal illness it is so bright and would bring a smile to anyones face!

Favorite Things Friday

Today my favorite thing is...

...My Punches I just love punches and I really can not craft without at least one of them! My new favorite punches are Fiskar punches, the new squeeze punches and the Threading water punch I searched and searched for 6 months to find a threading water boarder punch. I have to tell you that this is my absolute favorite I find myself using it over and over but so much fun!!!The squeeze punches are wonderful because you can see exactly where you are punching they have turned it upside down so you can see the cutting surface COOL!!! This week Michaels had punches on sale but I resisted buying one right now I needed to get paper for Christmas(Yeah right I keep telling myself this) I hope to have a project up tomorrow!!! Prima sent me my package of flowers and heart charm for the Breast Cancer pinky swear project I will make a card and post it so be sure to check back!!!

The Making Memories Desktop Carousel

I have to tell my story about this... I belong to a great online community Two peas in a bucket you should check it out at http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/ anyway after one of the CHA's I can not remember which one. I saw the message board buzzing with MMDC what in the world I finally asked oh it is the Making Memories Desktop Carousel, only the best thing for scrapbookers. I decided to do some research so I went to the making memories website and there it was on the homepage, WONDERFUL I had to have it. I looked all over could not find it. One day I went in Michael's and there they were on the end cap of the aisle and it said makes a wonderful gift. So I asked for it for Christmas my family looked for it but could not find one anywhere. So I ended up with a gift card that will do I said because I will find one. I went to Michaels everyday for the next three to four months holding on to my gift card and hope that I would find it. When one day I went in after long searching and found one lonely one sitting on the shelf I snatched it up real fast looked at the price it was 40% off $29.00 so that made it approx $17.99 then I had a 40% coupon but I could not use it because it was already on sale but the lady said do you have a coupon I said yes I do she said okay I can use it. I gave her the coupon and WOW this makes is approx. $11.00 BOY oh BOY was I on cloud nine!!! I came home and filled it up with all of my most commonly used tools. and better yet I still had money on my card so more shopping for me!!

This is a life saver for any busy scrapbooker, it has many compartments and hold a lot of scrapping stuff and the best part is it is on a lazy susan so you don't have to work hard to get the tool you want:o)

Card Swap!!!

Oh my I have just finished hosting the 2nd card swap through Fiskateers! This is such a fun swap lot of work but so much fun. I had 15-16 girls on the team this time we each made 10 cards and swapped them! To see all of the talent of everyone is great each and every one of us Fiskateers are very CREATIVE :o) My house well my dinning room table had all kinds of postal material on it for days at the end my mom was glad to see them go, (me too) I have received comments back from the girls that participated and said that yes they got their cards and they liked them YEAH!!! I plan on hosting another card swap at the beginning of next year. Can you believe that it is almost 2009! I can see a lot of neat crafting next year:o)

Oh I am so excited my great friend is hosting a 36 hour scrapbook getaway at the brand new hotel in town so I am so excited!!!! I have never been to anything like this... what to bring.... what not to bring.... what to wear.... so many questions I think that I will probably over pack as usual but what if always comes into my mind so I will over pack. My goal is to stay up all night, why you may ask because I have never stayed up all night in my life and I want to get a lot done and don't want to miss a minute of the fun since I have never been to something like this. I have been packing and organizing for weeks and tonight even going through pictures to see which ones I need for my projects. Oh my projects I have 5 Christmas projects to work on and 5 other miscellaneous projects to work on plus I will have my bug so I can always make paper dolls for gifts too!! I will definitely let you all know how it goes it is on November 22 starts early in the morning and goes through Sunday Afternoon. Did I say I am excited?... Oh yeah I did sorry but it is the truth I am EXCITED let you know the details after the retreat!

I am going to start showing my favorite craft tools, accessories, albums, and anything else craft related! ...my new daisy doodles Prima flowers

these flowers are so neat all of prima flowers are great but these are my newest collections (not for long I have a 50% coupon that I plan on using for Prima flowers stay tuned they may be on one of my favorite things list!)

The Daisy Doodles come in a neat glass jar kind of like a spice jar (so cute) with one assembled flower in the lid then 36 petals and the stamen for the center of the flower I can not wait to use them on a project!

I will try to be more promt to get my pictures uploaded and posted each day!

Sometimes crafting is hard

I am a crafter... I scrapbook, make cards, alter, crochet, and any other crafty thing that I come across. However, sometimes it is hard for me you may get in a rut and you may lose your mojo may not feel like crafting, this was not my problem. This weekend my friends mother passed away, to make a sympathy card probably the hardest crafting project I have had in a long time. I wanted to make something bright and something that would tell her how I felt, without making her sad all over again. this is what I came up with, I am pretty happy with it and sent it in the mail yesterday. I hope that it brings a smile to her face, enough talking here is the card.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

Well just in my package that the mailman left me today!!!!

Fiskateers have done it again they have outdone the monthly product swap! October swap theme was anything Christmas! I found these cute snowman baggies to put my swap in which included, chipboard,beads,stamps,pencil.eyelets, and snowflake brads. I then received more than I ever expected it was quite the good mail day!

Microbeads and I also received glitter!

look at the cute candy bar holder that the hostess made she posted them on her blog here they are so cute online but so sweet in person!

Prima!

Oh my do I love my Prima Flowers!! They are great you can use them on anything and they are gorgeous, all kinds of shapes, colors and types of flowers! I am obsessed with Prima flowers and now my Michaels sells them YEAH no more ordering online:o) These are the newest flowers I got it is Island colors in a calypso tin, when I opened the tim the flowers came flowing out there was tons of flowers in that tin probably 8 of each flower or something like that!

that would be like 64 flowers WOW!!!! Happy Crafting!!

Terrific Technique Thursday

Well not so terrific today but lets bring back technique Thursday!

I have wanted to do this for quite some time but now just getting around to getting to it! With 18 hours of college a full time job I try to find the time to craft and have a little bit of a life plus blog about it:o)

Todays project is a non-traditional Christmas card

Recipie~

-1 8 1/2X 11 pixie pink(I think I am not for sure;) ) cardstock

-1 Orchid opulance cardstock

- 1 glorious green cardstock

- Prima flowers

-wishing you cheer stamp set

-black stampin up stamp pad

-stampin up markers

The technique is using markers to ink your stamps

now probably lots of you know about this but for those that dont it is a really neat technique that gives your stamped images a different look. I used it on the sentiment on the inside! Today's project is also to tell you that you do not have to have a traditional Christmas card for it to be festive!

gather your materials I used the stampin up materials but whatever you want to use

stamp set Markers I used Images stamped in black

Then I took the markers and individually inked the words a different color.

This is how you do this

1- ink however you wish on your image

2- breath on the stamp

3- stamp down and see your masterpiece

(now the warm moist of your breath will bring the ink back to life and you can stamp )

This is my finished product

I am very happy with this card it is PINK my favorite color! and using Stampin up! my favorite stampin company:o)

With the leaves falling, and rain falling and bringing good cheer. Oh you will have to forgive me I have been listening to Christmas music all weekend and all day today! I FINISHED my CHRISTMAS CARDS!!!! Yes I said it out lout I finished on October the 8th I have finished my cards oh wow now to get to work on my gifts. Pictures coming soon on my gallery so check back to see them. Cold and rainy here today and very fallish but that is good because right after fall is Christmas my countdown is at the bottom of the page. I have had a busy week and it just keeps getting crazier we are just on wednesday! Time to go to bed so I can do it all over again tommorow we are going to have company for dinner tommorrow so we will be cooking tommorrow no time to craft (well I may find a minute:o) )

Stressed Out, Flipped Out, Happy

I could be Stressing right now I could be flipping out about now but I am happy I have no complaints and everything is great! I could be stressing and flipping because of school I am taking 18 hours online for a bachelors degree and boy oh boy I am working my tail off trying to get everything done and turned in to get a good grade! I feel like there is not enough hours in the day LOL I go to work I come home and do school then I try to find time to scrap or craft then I watch a little TV when there is something on GREYS ANATOMY or DANCING WITH THE STARS!!!!!! Other than that everything is Awesome I am getting ready for Christmas season I just started my cards yesterday. Next Monday my family is making Applebutter so getting ready for company to stay at our house. And right now as we speak.... well I sit here typing :o) My cousin and wonderful uncle are working on my flooring for my scrapbook room. My mom will not let me see it until it is done so that is why no updated pictures but as soon as they get done (hopefully today :o) but probably not:o( ) I will post lots of pictures and tell you all about it! Life is just busy to add to everything else my church is holding REVIVAL this week this is going to be a good REVIVAL not trying to sound melancholy about it but I will have to rework things in my schedule to get to go! Off to organize my scrapbook stuff to pack up for my new space!

Well not really today but Thursday was my birthday and I got the best present a girl could ask for well this girl anyway:o) I got a Bind-It-All!!!! Yeah I am making a book already a birthday calendar book I will post pictures as soon as I can get a chance to take some. but until then here are pictures of the bind-it-all and my book so far with nothing in it just the covers and pages but I made it, I also got with it the tool kit. This is sooooo neat it has a tape measure, bone folder, pen, scissors, pliers, wire cutters, needles, paper piercer, ruler, and a neat case to carry it in. What suprised me was how small the machine is and light it is very portable for all of those crops so I am ready to start making Christmas gifts, Yeah!!!

My scrapbook studio is almost complete well almost we have walls! LOL that is progress all we need to do is paint and put down flooring and install my countertops and cabinets cool, huh?
