Flower Shoppe Project

I am scheduled to attend a National Scrapbook Day Crop the theme is Paradise and we are supposed to wear vacation attire
I immediately thought I would wear my Hawaii dress with a flower lei from Hawaii
Then I thought I will make one, yeah I will make one with my cricut
here is what I came up with

See my mess of beads and paper:)

Here is my tutorial on making your very own Hawaiian lei using Cricut and Flower shoppe Cartridge

1.gather your supplies

Flower shoppe cricut cartridge, mouse pad, bone folder, something with a blunt end I used a paint brush, paper piercer, wire, seed beads, cardstock colors of your choice

2. Cut the main flower (think of a real hawaiian lei I had one made with hibiscus)
3. now take your bone folder or embossing tool and crease the flower to the center on each petal

4. Once the flower is creased now turn it over and you will be embossing the opposite side(think of coloring in do not emboss over your creased lines just in between the lines (gives it a real life look) you may use an embossing tool or just something with a blunt end, I used a paint brush!

5. Now take that paint brush or embossing tool and roll the flower petals around the tool

(see how it just came to life:), very neat I have found that stiff cardstock works the best)

6. now you will want to cut out the centers of the flowers I used white and yellow (dont have a picture of the actual center but of the cuts)

 7. now you are ready to string the made flowers on to a wire, I placed the seed beads in between each set of flowers to give that space so you could see the inside of the flowers
here is the final product again

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial come back to see the hair accessory I made to go with this lei

(this was not an original idea but I cannot remember where I saw it, saw it a while back and just thought I would attempt at making one)

Lookie what I got!!!!

For some time now I have been seeing some awesome projects with a cricut cartridge called Art Philosophy it is sold exclusively through close to my heart consultants(which I used to be one but gave it up last may:(, makes me sad)

The cartridge is $100.00 and I just felt the price was a little steep for my budget.  I felt like I could do all of what AP does with my other carts-- except for those delicious rolled flowers, so I bought flower shoppe a couple of months ago.

I was searching for project ideas with flower shoppe and all it kept giving me was the AP flowers, I thought long and hard about it  and finally took the plunge and purchased the Art Philosophy Cartridge, yep you read that right I bought the cartridge but I did get 3D-sized stamps and chipboard sheets that all coordinate

I am going to be doing a comparison between Art Philosophy and other cartridges and why it is completely worth it to purchase the set(remember I am no longer a consultant just a very happy customer!)

My first project is underway right now but I just had to share my excitement of getting the package yesterday
Be sure to stop back by to see the great projects from this cartridge

CCFA Mission complete

Hello on this beautiful March day
I am super excited to share this post today but first I need to tell you that CCFA means-- Cricut Card Fairy Army( a great group of crafter's on the cricut boards that create cards with the cricut and their own supplies to send to people in need of a card all around the world)

I just joined the ranks the other day when I myself requested to have cards sent to a dear friend that is in the hospital awaiting a lung transplant

here are my 2 well 3 missions completed
#868-869

I made this card using the meow lite cartridge(#869)
(I have had this cart for a long time but this is the very first cut made using this cart)
I then used my cuttlebug to emboss the blue background(sky) and
my gypsy to cut ovals out in orange and green(sun and grass)
I am super happy with this card!

This next card is for another mission#868- I used the Disney cartridge with snow white and 7 dwarfs
This is a cute cut and I love him-- i think it will make him smile when he sees it:)

This card is for the same mission except for his mom-- I love hello kitty(what girl doesn't?)
I used hello kitty greetings cart for the front and the cuttlebug/sizzix folder in damask for the background-- Stickles for the flowers
Very very happy with this card I hope it puts a smile on her face!

The back of my cards are stamped(well computer generated until a stamp can be made) with this logo

Thanks for stopping by and
Until next time happy Crafting

My first cut with the sweet treats

I decided to make a cupcake box with matching tag for my friend who is hosting our annual crop retreat!
I cut the cupcake out at 10.5" I added the cupcake insert inside because I wanted to give her a sweet treat:)

I put stickles on the cherry and used ctmh pattern paper for the cupcake frosting

I like it, kind of looks like sprinkles!

View from above!
Close up of the frosting and the cherry on top:)
Stay tuned for more sweet treats and some flowers that will be blooming soon:)

A box using my gypsy

I have seen nothing but the cutest boxes on blogs, made using the cricut! I decided i wanted to make one too:)

I did not have any cartridges that made a box but not to worry my gypsy came to the rescue

I used George and basic shapes to create the inside boxes and plantin schoolbook to create the flower

I used my scor-pal to create the outer box

a side view of the box

Side view of the flower to show how many layers was used in making the flower pop off the box!

close up of the flower(I love how it turned out)

the inside of the box, complete with some note-cards, a stamp set (to decorate the note cards) and a altered note pad with matching pen!

one card two ways

I needed a congratulations card for my cousin who just got accepted to the college she has dreamed about going to:)
One of my students the very next day to getting her announcement, makes his announcement that his dog got hit by a car and passed away on the way the vet. He was so torn up over the dog it made me and the other students cry. I thought I need to make to him a card for the class to give to him(this is not unusual for for me to do I make a card usually once per quarter for various and sundry things) So I came home after work and headed straight to my craft room--

I knew I wanted something made with cricut and maybe stamps.
I wanted a dog related card for the student since it was his dog that passed away, once I got finished with his card I loved the dog on the front so much that I decided to do the same thing for the congratulations card.

Here are the cards
